HAppy Anniversary
This weekend marks our 1st Anniversay as a married couple. Has it been a roller coaster year? Somewhat., but not too bad. Have some great things happened? Absolutey. Have there been challenges and complications, disputes, and irrationalities? Sure there have. Guilty as charged.

But you know, just so it is clear:

I love VAmore and more as we grow together. We know each other deeply and well, but still learn from one another all the time. We are different, invested in different parts of our pursuits of knowledge, justice, success, creativity, elation, and romance. We are a pair at odds and in some ways -- clashing aaginst each other's histories or temperaments, but it all comes back to how closely we are held together. We deeply believe in one another. In the other's being who they are.

He's good to me. Not for the petty and not so petty errors he puts up with, but because of how he feeds me, nurtures my mind, helps me do my best to do my best -- even if we come at it from odd angles.

I love him for that. And for his way of declaring his presence to the world. He matters. And to me that is a radical statement when you've been told you don't. He speaks. And for me that is radical, when he has been told to be silent. And he actsin the defense and promotion of a deeply felt and intricately articulated justice. And yes, to me that is deliciously radical when others would have him bound to their own rigid definitions of success and worth.

I love you so much and this crazy path of differences and sameness, of consensus-building and learning is the best adventure I could imagine. You are the best gift I could imagine. Thank you for all you show and give to me. -- Happy Anniversary
