Trent Lott
Whoa. The Trent Lott story has major legs. Trent Lott's racism, Trent Lott's racist history, Trent Lott's hypocrisy, Trent Lott's this or that. It's everywhere. But damn people- we knew this Trent Lott. It's not a new story.

It's amazing what the media and a few well-turned Republicans can pull off.

So now we must ask George and the others, just how compassionate is your conservatism? Are you really the party of Lincoln?

Is your conservatism compassionate enough to support affirnative action programs like Lott now claims to support?

Is it compassionate enough to support people-friendly, effective, and non-punitive welfare reform?

Is it compassionate enough to enforce the Voting Rights Act and to ensure that disenfranchised voters are not left off voting rolls?

Is it compassionate enough to cry foul when one of your own files briefs in support of racist university policies at Bob Jones University, or in support of the freedom to burn crosses and threaten people?

And on. . . and on. . .

Fuck your compassionate conservatism. Racism is your agenda. It always has been. If Lott is forced out, all I have to say is who's next? Let's go.

And if we don't get them in the first round --when we are ridding the Senate and House of the racists through public shaming, we get rid of them in the second round as we vote the racists, the sexists, the good ol' boys privilege club and the homphobes out as well.

Lott is just one guy.
