14:11 - Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003 Love Poem Inspired by Audre Lorde, Alice Walker, and Maxine Hong Kingston Light is in the strength of the music, the power of words, and the thoughtful life between us. It is in the effort, the trying, the work of making a better and safer world for each other. Love is the joy of connection, of building a sharing that starts with two. Light is a free dance, arms out wide or just touching. It is the joy of resistance to that which begs us to live without our lives, to speak as if we were other people, to live outside of truth. Today, two continue together in a union of love that dares to speak its name, And, standing in the light, on the shoulders of many, it does so over and over again without reservation.
